Build-a-Well Project
As posited by Savenjie (2022), water is a special economic good, one that is not substitutable. That is, access to clean and reliable water is a basic human right, yet many regions and villages around the world continue to face severe water scarcity. Our Build a Well Project works to provide wells sustainably in communities where safe water is challenging. By bringing clean water closer to families, we aim to reduce the daily burden of long journeys (Tallman et al., 2023; Bisung & Elliot, 2017), improve health outcomes (Sommer et al., 2015; Zheng et al., 2022), support local agriculture, and create opportunities for children to focus on education instead of water collection (Apatinga et al., 2022; Dickin & Caretta, 2023).
Together, we aim to turn scarcity into sustainability, one well at a time.
