Who we are
Senegal Foundation (SNGL) is a U.S.-registered nonprofit organization with operations focused on supporting socio-economically challenged women and children in Senegal.
Like many developing countries in Africa, Senegal is blessed with a youthful population—the median age is 19 years age (ANSD, 2023). This demographic presents both an opportunity and a responsibility: the future of Senegal lies in the hands of its young people, provided they are equipped with the support and resources they need to thrive.
Individually, women and children in Senegal face unique socio-economic challenges. Collectively, they experience compounded hardships at the intersection of age, gender, and cultural norms, among other things. Financial burdens and limited access to essential services often define the everyday realities of vulnerable women and children.
At Senegal Foundation, our mission is to empower women and children in vulnerable situations. Through both short-term relief and long-term development initiatives, we work in unity, as children of Teranga, to uplift the very heart of our communities: women and children.
From Teranga, With Purpose.
